May 26, 2024 – – – In a lone event over the busy Memorial Day racing weekend, Cory Hedgecock and his #23 team ventured south to All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Florida on Saturday, May 25 for the annual running of the ‘Harvey Jones Memorial.’ A total of 38 Crate Racin’ USA Series competitors piled into the pit area at the Sunshine State speedplant to do battle for the $10,000 first place prize money.
Cory stopped the clock second quickest in his group during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then started the 50-lap headliner from the inside of the fifth row, but passing was at a premium throughout the contest. At the completion of the ‘Harvey Jones Memorial,’ Cory had gained two positions on the one-lane racing surface and was paid for a seventh place performance.
