June 9, 2024 – – – Cory Hedgecock made his debut piloting a #36V Viper Motorsports car over the June 6-8 weekend in the 30th edition of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. In his prelim night on Thursday with a $25,000 top prize up for grabs, Cory timed in sixteenth quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to advancing to sixth in his heat race. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then placed third in his B-Main, which was just one mere spot away from a coveted transfer position into the 50-lap feature that was won by Ricky Thornton, Jr.
On Saturday, a huge crowd was on hand to witness the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ finale, which boasted a $100,030 first place prize. Cory moved up two spots in his heat race to finish seventh and later worked his way past five more competitors during his B-Main. Unfortunately, the sixth place effort in his consolation race was three spots away from transferring into the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza that was ultimately won by Jonathan Davenport.
