March 17, 2025 – – – Cory Hedgecock and his #23V team made their way to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on March 14-15 for the annual running of the ‘Tennessee Tipoff.’ The World of Outlaws Late Model Series doubleheader weekend kicked off on Friday night with a $12,000 paycheck up for grabs. Cory stopped the clock seventh quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to running third in his heat race. The Loudon, Tennessee ace then slipped back a few spots during the 35-lap feature to land in the thirteenth finishing position.
With inclement weather invading the Volunteer State on Saturday, the $15,000 to win finale at Smoky Mountain was rained out. On Sunday, the action quickly shifted to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee for the unsanctioned ‘Winterfest’ program, which boasted a $6,025 top prize. Cory qualified fifth fastest and later steered past a trio of competitors during the 40-lapper to earn an impressive runner-up performance behind only victor Sam Seawright!
