May 29, 2017 - Podium Finish in Crate Nationals at Whynot; Salvages Top 10 Finish in Crate at Volunteer Speedway
1On Friday night Cory Hedgecock returned with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series for the two-day event at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). With 38 cars on hand for the Southern Crate Late Nationals, Hedgecock laid down the second fastest time in his qualifying group before charging to a heat race win locking him into the $5,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday evening. Rolling off 3rd, Cory battled for a podium spot throughout the 75-lapper, eventually coming home 2nd behind Kyle Bronson with Spencer Hughes, Jamey Boland, and Jim McDuffie completing the Top 5 finishers.

Sunday’s NeSmith sanctioned program at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) was cancelled due to the weather.

1Monday night brought Hedgecock to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) competing in his Crate Late Model in a field of 28 cars. Battling with Anthony White for the lead in the feature, Hedgecock and White made contact while sliding into a turn, sending them both into the wall. Rejoining the field from the tail after exchanging his flat-tire, Cory wheeled his way up to a 7th place outing in the remaining laps.

May 20, 2017 - Cory Hedgecock Goes 4-for-4 at I-75 Raceway
1Cory Hedgecock traveled to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) on Friday night for the Schaeffer Oil Spring Nationals sanctioned program. With 23 Super Late Models registered in for the $4,000-to-win A-Main, Hedgecock rolled off deep in the field for the feature and was able to work his way up to a 17th place outing in the 40-lapper.

1The following night Cory stopped at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee) debuting in his brand new XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model. In a field of 11 cars, Hedgecock charged to his fourth straight win at the I-75 from the 4th-starting position topping Brad Coffey, Ryan Tims, Johnny Ridings, and Paul Tims at the finish line. This win marked his tenth overall on the season.

May 13, 2017 - Hedgecock Returns to I-75 Raceway's Victory Lane
1Saturday night brought Cory Hedgecock to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee) competing in a field of 11 Limited Late Models. Earning the pole position for the feature via preliminary events, Hedgecock paced his way through the field picking up his ninth win of the season topping Sammie Russell, Andy Pickelsimer, Benjy Shaw, and Johnny Ridings at the finish line. May 6, 2017 - Cory Hedgecock Stays Red Hot; Wins at Talladega Short Track
1After losing Friday’s $2,500-to-win opener to the rain, Cory Hedgecock returned to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) on Saturday pulling double duty in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and the Southern All Star Series. Laying down fastest time overall in a stout field of 52 Crate Late Models, Hedgecock earned the 2nd-starting position for the feature. Dropping back into 3rd early, Hedgecock inherited his starting spot back after the leaders got tangled up battling for the top spot. Waiting patiently to take over the lead, Cory jumped out in front after race-leader broke cruising to his eighth win of the season over Adam Cummings, Riley Hickman, Cruz Skinner, and Greg Martin. He was awarded a $2,500 payday for his triumph in the 50-lap A-Main.

1In the Super Late Model ranks, Hedgecock timed in second fastest in his group putting him on the second row for the feature. After battling for a podium spot throughout the A-Main, Cory dropped back to 4th after getting slammed into the wall by another competitor. Hanging on to a Top 5 finish, Hedgecock limped to a solid 4th place finish behind Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, and Dallas Cooper with Todd Morrow coming in 5th.
