June 30, 2024 – – – The busy month of June for Cory Hedgecock concluded on June 28-29 in the ‘Volunteer 50’ at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Behind the wheel of the Viper Motorsports #36V Super Late Model, Cory timed in seventh quickest in Group B during qualifying on Friday prior to passing four competitors during the night’s 25-lap prelim feature to land on the podium in third behind only $5,000 winner Brandon Overton and runner-up Donald McIntosh. In Saturday’s $50,050 to win headliner, Cory started sixth on the grid in the 50-lapper and ultimately wound up eleventh in the final rundown of the Bulls Gap mega-event.
In 604 Crate Late Model competition over the weekend at “The Gap,” Cory laid down the seventh quickest lap in Group B during qualifying on Friday before advancing up to finish ninth in the $1,500 to win A-Main. With an $8,050 top prize on the line in Saturday’s feature event, the Loudon, Tennessee ace blasted past six competitors during the 50-lap contest to earn an impressive third place performance behind only victor Jeremy Steele and runner-up Ricky Weiss.
