May 5, 2024 – – – The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series took the Cory Hedgecock Motorsports team to the Carolinas over the May 3-4 weekend for a pair of pivotal point races. On Friday night at Ultimate Motorsports Park in Elkin, North Carolina, Cory Hedgecock posted the eleventh quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session before finishing fifth in his stacked heat race. He then started from the pole position in his B-Main, but unfortunately folded the nose under on his #23 machine and retired in the ninth spot. After utilizing a series provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win headliner, Cory completed one lap on the rugged racing surface and was officially scored in the twenty-ninth finishing position.
Saturday’s visit to Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, South Carolina was then nixed due to inclement weather. Following Elkin on Friday evening, Cory currently sits tied for sixth in the latest version of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series point standings.
