April 28, 2024 – – – The month of April for the #23 team wrapped up in a big way on Saturday evening, April 27 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The annual ‘King of the Mountain’ event was held and a whopping 44 car field showed up and showed out for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series special.
Cory Hedgecock knocked down the ninth fastest time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to finishing seventh in heat race action. After rebounding to grab the second transfer spot through his B-Main, Cory started the $15,000 to win headliner from the outside of the tenth row. With a $15,000 paycheck on the line, the Loudon, Tennessee ace was able to work his way past four competitors en route to a sixteenth place showing.
