September 2, 2024 – – – The Cory Hedgecock Motorsports team ventured to the states of Iowa and Ohio from August 30-September 1 for a trio of marquee Super Late Model events. The hectic Labor Day holiday weekend kicked off with the 47th running of the ‘Yankee Dirt Track Classic’ at 300 Raceway in Farley, Iowa, which was sanctioned by the XR Super Series. On Friday night in the $15,000 to win opener, Cory Hedgecock ran third in his heat race and eighth in the 40-lap feature event. With a whopping $50,047 winner’s check up for grabs in Saturday’s annual ‘Yankee DIrt Track Classic’ grand finale, Cory placed second in his heat race and seventh in the 60-lapper.
The tripleheader then concluded on Sunday evening at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series presided over the ‘Baltes Classic,’ which drew a stellar 64 car field to vie for the $5,000 first place prize money. Cory qualified well and later finished second in his heat race behind only Jonathan Davenport. After rolling off from the outside of the fifth row in the 30-lap main event, the Loudon, Tennessee ace vaulted all the way up to fifth in the running order until a late flat tire unfortunately dropped him to a disappointing sixteenth place showing.
