February 2, 2025 – – – Cory Hedgecock, of Loudon, Tennessee, captured a dominant win on Saturday afternoon, February 1 at the nearby I-75 Raceway to start his 2025 season in victorious fashion! With 22 entrants on hand at the Sweetwater, Tennessee venue, Cory started off his day by knocking down the fastest lap during Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying to earn the pole position for the 40-lap main event.
The driver of the #23v BMF racecar with a potent Eagle Racing Engine under the hood immediately took the lead at the drop of the green flag and held the point throughout the remainder of the caution-plagued race. At the checkers, Cory was 1.767 seconds ahead of the pack to bag the $5,000 first place prize money over runner-up Billy Franklin, Kendall Franklin, Joe Denby, and Joshua Chesney! Full results from the Winter Championships at I-75 Raceway can be viewed online at www.sasdirt.com.
“The car felt really good,” quoted Hedgecock after his first triumph of the young 2025 campaign. “Sometimes I’d pick up a shove, but I feel like if I slowed down I was better. I wasn’t trying to run too hard, I thought we were okay out front. Overall it was good, it was the right tire choice and they really didn’t even wear at all. I have to thank everyone that plays a part in our program – it’s awesome to start out our year with a win!”
Next up for Cory Hedgecock Motorsports will be a return trip to I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee on Saturday, February 15. The annual Sweetheart Race, which originated at 411 Motor Speedway, has moved to I-75 and the Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series will headline the single-day program.
